  • Barbara Jean Wright (1930-2001)

(Youngest Daughter of Clarence & Lillie Wood Wright)

Born in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Lillie Wright and educated at Redford High School located in Redford, a Detroit West Side Suburb.

Jeanworked in various clerical capacities and married a Norman Ayers, in 1955 at Detroit, Michigan. The couple moved to the Los Angeles, California area in abt. 1955 residing at Northridge, California, Husband Norm acquiring a job at Douglas Aircraft Company at Santa Monica, California.

The Couple had one Daughter,Lisa Anne Ayers, however later divorced wherein Jean married a Harland Pritchard, who alsoworked at Douglas Aircraft at Santa Monica, California.

Jean and Harland relocated to Huntington Beach, California where they resided for many years. Jean acquired a positionas a Medical Records Administrator at Flagship Convalescent Center, at New Port Beach, California.

She was a very quiet and reserved person, and enjoyed her work at the Convalescent Center for some 17 years, retiring in March of 1994.

During Jean's tenure at Flagship she cared for her parents Clarence and Lillie Wright who were patients at Flagship Convalescent after her Mother Lillie's heart attack in January of 1983, when her Parents were interned there. Her Father lived on there until he died March 3, 1987 at age 94 years.

After retirement in 1994,Jean relocated to Leisure World, at Laguna Hills, California where she purchased a very nice condominium in beautiful surroundings and resides to date.

Barbara had formerly live at Leisure World, in Laguna Hills, California for some ten years prior to her illness, enjoying frequent visits from her Daughter Lisa Anne Pachol and Grand Children Katelyn Joelle and Andrew William Pachol who lived nearby.Barbara also worked part time with the Leisure World Security Section, and so enjoyed this work giving her contact with the other Residents of Leisure World.

In May of 1999 Barbara became ill with metatstic squamous cell cancer of the head and neck, and received surgery for this condition at Laguna Hills, with subsequent radiation treatment in the Fallbrook area, after relocating to Pala Mesa Greens in April of 2000 to live with her Brother, Kenneth M. Wright.

Barbara passed away at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 21st., at the Fallbrook Skilled Nursing Center, Fallbrook, California.

Barbara so enjoyed living at Pala Mesa Resort in fact stated frequently that this time in Fallbrook was among the happiest experiences of her life; her she was able to do some limited activity in her Brother's extensive Garden adjacent the Pala Mesa Resort Golf and Convention Center, and had so many good times in the Patio overlooking the Garden and Golf Course and working in the Garden from time to time.

One of Barbara's many wonderful personality traits was her positive attitude toward her illness, which she understood was terminal and as the disease progressed was accompanied by very intensive pain! She had such a positive and strong Spiritual Relationship with her Lord, the Father, and it appeared she enjoyed a Daily Contact with this Positive and Loving Spiritual force that helped her through this very difficult time in her life.

We thank the Fallbrook Hospital Hospice and the wonderful staff of "Angels" who so Professionally , Faithfully and Lovingly assisted Barbara in all her physical, medical and emotional needs over the past many weeks here at Home in Fallbrook. How comforting it has been personally to me, her Brother, the Family, Friends and Neighbors knowing that Barbara was receiving such wonderful tender, loving care during this most stressful time in our lives.

Barbara had requested Cremation and was interned at OAKWOOD MEMORIAL PARK, Chatsworth, California with her Mother Lillie Bernice and Father Clarence Graham Wright as she requested, in Section Elm of the Park.So Peacefully Sleep Comes to a Dear Beloved Heart, Quietly we understand the Time has Come To Part, Tenderly, the Love Shines On A Never Ending Light! Gratefully, we feel its Warmth and Say, "Sweet Dreams and Good Night Dear Barbara.
