  • It is possible this is William Appleman in the 1870 census but this is only reference to this. He is in the same household as a Caroline Appleman but I have no record other than this census that they are married. In 1870 she was 39 and he was 70, a thirty one year age difference. If this family unit as listed in the 1870 census is accurate then it could be that William and Caroline married sometime in the 1860's after Caroline's first husband died. Then brought into the household Carolines children from her first marriage to David Reese and then they had their own child Eugene born in 1867.

     

    In the 1870 census her Carolina has the inferred last name of Appleman. Not sure if this is a spouse or daughter
