Hadwig, or Hedwig changed wanted to be called Hattie by the time the census enumerators came around in 1910. It is likley that this name came out of favor by that time and she was going along with the times. She was 13 in 1910 just about the time one might susspect a young girl would not want to be called Hadwig. According to babynameshub.com their was a steep drop off in people naming their girls Hedwig by 1926.
